Northwest China Grand Tour Itinerary

Day One: Arrive in Lanzhou and embark on the journey.

Our journey begins in Lanzhou, the historic capital of Gansu Province and a transportation hub in the northwest region. Upon arrival, you can rest in the city first, adjust to the time difference, and get ready for the upcoming itinerary.

Day Two: Lanzhou - Dunhuang

Departing from Lanzhou in the morning, we will head to Dunhuang along the Lianhuo Expressway. Along the way, you can enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Loess Plateau and the majestic views of the Qilian Mountains. After arriving in Dunhuang in the afternoon, we recommend that you first visit Mogao Grottoes, a world cultural heritage and one of the four major grottoes in China.

Day Three: Dunhuang - Mingsha Mountain - Crescent Spring

In the morning, we will head to the Mingsha Mountains, where you can ride a camel across the desert and experience its mystery and charm. In the afternoon, we will visit the Crescent Spring, an oasis in the desert with unique scenery. At night, you can rest at the hotel in Dunhuang to prepare for the next day's itinerary.

Day Four: Dunhuang - Jiayuguan

In the morning, we will leave Dunhuang and head to Jiayuguan. Here, you can visit attractions such as the Jiayuguan section of the Great Wall and the Jiayuguan Fortress, learning about ancient Chinese military defense and cultural history. In the evening, we will rest at a hotel in Jiayuguan.

Day Five: Jiayuguan - Zhangye

In the morning, we will depart from Jiayuguan and head to Zhangye. Along the way, you can enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Qilian Mountains and the vast Gobi Desert. In the evening, you can rest at the hotel in Zhangye.

Day Six: Zhangye - Xining

In the morning, we will leave Zhangye and head to Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province. Along the way, you will cross the Qilian Mountains and enjoy the magnificent scenery of the plateau. At night, you can taste local delicacies at Xining's night market and experience the city's nightlife.

Day Seven: Xining - Qinghai Lake - Chaka Salt Lake

In the morning, we will depart from Xining and head to Qinghai Lake. It is the largest inland lake in China and a picturesque tourist destination.

Day Eight: Chaka Salt Lake - Xining - End of Journey

In the morning, we will spend our last moments at the Chaka Salt Lake before returning to Xining.
