Visit Tiantishan Grottoes in Wuwei Tour & tips  Tiantishan Grottoes admission is 30¥; student ID is half price 15¥.There is a parcel post at the visitor center. The beautiful scenery of Huangheyang Reservoir along the way is quite enchangting, comfortable and beautiful. The feeling are all bout relaxed, enjoyable and intoxicated.  Pass through the Arhat Hall, you will come to an exhibition hall, and then go ahead to the core of the grottoes scenic area. When Xiang Da, an archaeologist, passed by Wuwei at that time, he thought that the Tiantian Grottoes were the "Liangzhou Grottoes" opened by the Northern Liang. In 1927, an earthquake destroyed five of the early grottoes. Due to the construction of a reservoir, archaeologists believed that the water level would be too high to flood the grottoes. The stone statues were relocated and demolished for several years, and finally moved to the Wuwei Museum (now in the warehouse of the museum). That is the only Tcaves Buddha we could see today. The grattoes is the 13th main statue. The statue of Sakyamuni is 28 meters high. The giant Buddha sat majestily, with a tendency to swallow smoke and clouds.  On the left and right sides of the big Buddha are six statues: Kasye, Ananda, Manjusri, Puxian, Dowen, and Kwangmu. Their expressions are vivid and their images differs. The rippling blue waves in front of the grottoes and the swirling clouds form a natural and cultural landscape of mountains, water, Buddha and clouds. The whole tour time is about 40-60min, comfortable, relaxed, less-walking. 3. Return trip  After the tour, I called the bus driver known in the morning, and the big brother said that the next bus would arrive at 10:55. Then I called the scenic area official for assitance. Replied that to wait at the visitor center and a driver will take you back to your drop off point. When I left, the scenic driver warmly welcomed me to visit again, which I felt the enthusiasm of the Great Northwest. The whole trip starts from 8:00 am to 9:20 am by bus to the scenic spot, and Tours for 40-60 minutes in between. Then return to the drop-off point at 10:30, 10:55 on Haxi to Wuwei bus. Get off at 12:15 and return to Wuwei Bus Station West.
